Drakensberg Eco Estate, a 2000 hectare Farm, with The Drakensberg mountain range forming a North-Western front.
This mountain range can determine one’s state of being. At times grey and mysterious, sometimes bright and lush green. One can not help but stand in awe when coming face to face with the mighty cliffs. After a sudden raincloud burst the ravine breathes warmly and exhales small clouds of mist that hang like ornaments around the mountain. The shady, cool ravines flow where one can explore waterfalls, orchids, ferns and the countless Yellowwood trees, their trunks so big that they can be embraced like a childhood friend.
This mountain should be lightly walked upon in order to preserve the Zulu’s iron smelter. The footsteps of the Voortrekkers as well as the legacy left by the Anglo-Boer War is all around. In this eco-sensitive setting, one can settle in any of the seven small towns which are bound by the mountain as a lifeline. Here one can enjoy the peaceful company in the singing wind and brightest of stars.
